accused of killing sean taylor got started today six years after the terrible crime and even those proceedings came an hour late. erica now charged with first- degree murder and armed burglary. he was 17 years old at the time when the crime happened. the redskins safety was just trying to protect his girlfriend and their baby. he was shot in the leg and ended up bleeding to death. >>> he grabbed a machete and tells her to stay in bed. he walks towards his bedroom door, not knowing who or what was waiting for him on the other side. it's at that moment that this defendant, eric rivera, with gun in his hand, kicks the door open. and when that happened, sean taylor, machete in his hand, standing there, was shot. >> that bullet hit a major artery and killed taylor and broke all our hearts at the time. police did cohearse a confession from their client. >>> a teacher died today trying to protect students when one of their classmates opened fire. 150 officers responded just before classes started. the shooter hit two students, one needed surgery, the other said to be doing well. police s
